When you need strength

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

I Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

II Corinlthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee: and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, those shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble, and he knoweth them that trust in him.

When you are in danger

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed:for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee wtih the right hand of my righteoudness.

Revelations 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things  are passed away.

When you have sinned

Psalm 51.1.Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

When you grow bitter and critical

1 Cor. 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

When your prayers grow narrow and selfish

Psalm 67.1  God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. 2. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.  3. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 4. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.  5. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.  6. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord:
